How We Use Your Information
Your information is used exclusively to operate the Krakye service:
- Verifying your identity when you register as a farmer, field buyer, district officer, or LBC agent
- Enabling buyers to check whether a farmer has existing loan obligations before purchasing cocoa
- Sending SMS notifications to district officers when a field buyer requests verification
- Delivering push notifications about loan alerts and repayment reminders
- Detecting and flagging patterns of fraudulent activity within the cocoa supply chain
- Reviewing conduct reports filed between farmers, field buyers, and district officers, and reflecting confirmed reports in reputation scores
- Recording farmer consent for loan agreements as a legally significant record
We do not use your data for advertising, marketing profiling, or any purpose unrelated to cocoa supply chain trust verification.
Data Storage and Security
All data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Storage), hosted in Google Cloud infrastructure. Data is transmitted over HTTPS and protected by Firebase's industry-standard security.
Voice consent recordings are stored in Firebase Storage and are accessible only to authorized personnel within your licensed buying company and to Krakye administrators for dispute resolution.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:
- Within the supply chain: A farmer's loan status (not personal identity details) is visible to verified field buyers who check their phone number
- District Officers and LBCs: Field buyer registration details are shared with the district officer they name during registration, for verification purposes
- Conduct reports: If a report is filed against you, its details are visible to your LBC for review. Unresolved payment disputes between field buyers and district officers may also be included in reports escalated to COCOBOD or other relevant authorities
- Service providers: Africa's Talking (SMS delivery) and Google Firebase (data storage and authentication) process data on our behalf under their respective privacy policies
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by Ghanaian law or regulatory authorities including COCOBOD
Your Rights
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information in your profile, request deletion of your account and personal data, and withdraw consent for voice recordings. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within 14 days.
